Fantasy Football Cup - Your Questions Answered!

What is the YTM Cup?
The YTM Cup will launch in January.
It will provide you with the chance to lead your team to cup glory in an exciting knockout competition. Just like in real life, any team can go on an unexpected cup run - and any team can upset the favourites.

Is my team eligible?
Every team in the entire game will be automatically entered for the YTM Cup, providing it is registered before the deadline of 12:00 midday on 9th January 2010. Existing teams are automatically entered - you do not need to do anything.

Will my team only be eligible for the YTM Cup?
No. Your team will be registered for the remaining £5,000 monthly competitions as well as the Cup, providing it is registered in time.

How many teams can I enter? How much does it cost?
You can enter as many teams as you like. All current teams in You The Manager Fantasy Football are entered into the Qualifying Round automatically. You can also buy additional teams for the special price of 2 for £5, including FREE Transfers. This means you can make up to 20 changes to each team that you buy at no extra cost, so two goes at the YTM Cup, not to mention February, March and April's £5,000 monthly prizes will only cost you a fiver! This offer ends at 12pm on Saturday 9th January 2010, so get your team in on time!

How does it work?
The competition is based on head-to-head matches in sixteen different rounds of matches. Eventually, there will be two teams left in the competition for the final in May.
In each head-to-head match (Rounds 1-16), the team with the most points during the specified time period for the round will be the winner. They will progress to the next round, while the loser will be eliminated.
If two teams end up with the same points, the winner will be the team that has scored the most goals. If this is level, the winner will be the team with the most KC's. If still level, the team with the most clean sheets will be declared the winner. In the unlikely event that the teams are still level, the winner will be the team that was registered first.
Points for this game are based on matches in the English Premier League and FA Cup ONLY.

There will be a Qualifying Stage starting on 9th January.
Every team in the game will automatically take part in this. At this stage, there are no head-to-head matches. The top-scoring 65,536 teams in that game period will progress to Round 1, while the remainder will be eliminated at this stage.

In Round 1 and onwards, each team will be placed into a randomly generated draw and matched up against another team. You can be matched up against anyone in the game!
Eventually, the two teams that progress all the way to the final will go head-to-head for the title of YTM Cup Winner 2010, and walk away with our top prize!

Here is a breakdown of when each and every round will be played, and how many teams will take part in these rounds (Each round is the whole week starting with the date specified below):

09 Jan: Qualifying Stage - all registered teams
16 Jan: Round 1 - 65,536 teams
23 Jan: Round 2 - 32,768 teams
30 Jan: Round 3 - 16,384 teams
06 Feb: Round 4 - 8,192 teams -- Runs through to 20th Feb - Includes FA Cup 5th Round weekend --
20 Feb: Round 5 - 4,096 teams
27 Feb: Round 6 - 2,048 teams
06 Mar: Round 7 - 1,024 teams
13 Mar: Round 8 - 512 teams
20 Mar: Round 9 - 256 teams
27 Mar: Round 10 - 128 teams
03 Apr: Round 11 - 64 teams
10 Apr: Round 12 - 32 teams
17 Apr: Round 13 - 16 teams
24 Apr: Round 14 (Quarter Finals) - 8 teams
01 May: Round 15 (Semi Finals) - 4 teams
08 May - 16 May: Round 16 (Final) - 2 teams -- Runs through to 16th May - Includes FA Cup Final --

How can I check my Cup progress?
After the YTM Cup has started, there will be a link next to your teams on your personal homepage that will let you track your progress in the competition.
When you select this, you'll be able to see who your next opponent is and which round the competition has reached. You cannot view the players in your opponent's team.
If you win the round, this process will be repeated for the next round.
If you are eliminated, you will be able to track the progress of the team that knocked you out.
