Premier League Analysis
With only one Premier League game played this weekend, the majority of YTM points will be scored on Tuesday and Wednesday night.
However, those of you with goalscorers Roque Santa Cruz and Ashley Young have got off to the best possible start after Blackburn were held to a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa.
Blackburn’s Paraguayan sensation is looking more and more like the bargain of the season at just £4m with 98 points, while Young has now contributed 3 goals and an impressive 12 KC’s for a total of 79 points.
There are nine games left to be played later in the week, which will undoubtedly decide the coveted £10,000 manager of the month prize.
Premier League Analysis - 19/20 Jan
Birmingham 0 Chelsea 1
New signing McFadden had to settle for a substitute appearance whilst new defender Murphy was still getting over a hamstring injury. Kapo kept his place and Jerome (limped off on 72 minutes) started with O’Connor up front. Having played United, Arsenal and Chelsea in succession the fixtures look a lot brighter for City now. I’d expect McFadden to be a regular starter from here in on.
Pizarro’s first goal in 23 appearances after he came on having been dropped for Anelka. Chelsea look very solid defensively and have only conceded two goals in their last four games. The signing of Ivanovic seems to have galvanised Alex and Carvalho. SWP went off with a nasty looking ankle injury. Rumours that Frank has suffered a setback in his recovery and might not make the England international on Feb 6th.

Newcastle fighting back!
The Toon army have gone back to trusty leader General Keegan to restore some pride in a force that once was. If he can instill this type of passion back into the team, who knows? Perhaps we might see them forgetting the void left by Private Allardyce and moving to the top of the table!
Premier League Analysis - 12/13 Jan
Arsenal 1 Birmingham 1
Walcott started on the right with Eduardo partnering Adebayor in attack. Senderos came in for Toure who is at the African Cup of Nations. No goals in seven Premier League games for Fabregas. Gallas almost snatched a late winner and consistently looks the most likely of their defenders to score.
Kapo returned from a knee injury but picked up his fourth yellow card of the season. At £3 million he is a decent option. McSheffrey was dropped as O’Connor (the goal scorer) played with Jerome up front. Queudrue went off injured in the 61st minute. Larsson registered his fifth KC of the season.

Players Leaving for African Cup of Nations
The African Cup of Nations is going to see a large proportion of quality players leaving the island for a couple of weeks to play for their countries on their continent. This does not bode well for many managers who will need to fill the voids left by these players. Hopefully you will have a couple of transfers handy for some damage control - Here is a list of who is going to be crossing over to Africa for a couple of weeks at the end of the month… (more…)
