Premier League Analysis - 31/03/08
Birmingham 3 Man City 1
All hail the “Zarate Kid“! With McFadden out (could be back for the Everton game on April 12th) injured the Argentine is an in form striker who’ll definitely start and he’s only £2 million. Sign him up! Birmingham have scored in their last eight league games - only Man Utd can match that.
City were very poor and even Sven looked angry at the end. Jihai came in for Corluka and Johnson did not make the squad. Elano (scored the pen) and Vasell supported Benjani in attack.

Aston Villa 0 Sunderland 1
Gardner replaced the suspended Mellberg. Villa’s form has tailed off alarmingly and they visit Old Trafford next. It’s now 17 games without a clean sheet, four games without a win and just two goals scored in those games. Carson has pulled out of the England squad with a knock.
Jones was ill so O’Donovan kept his place alongside Murphy. Richardson came in for Leadbitter whilst Chopra had to settle for a place on the bench. It was Sunderland’s first away win of the season and could prove crucial. Collins, Edwards and Nosworthy picked up knocks and are doubts for the visit of West Ham.

Arsenal 1 Middlesbrough 1
Van Persie started for Arsenal but he couldn’t stop a troubling run of four consecutive Premier League draws for the Gunners. They have now dropped 13 points against teams from the bottom half of the league. An erratic Adebayor had an early goal ruled out for offside.

Blackburn 1 Fulham 1
Tugay replaced Emerton in midfield with Dunn only good enough for the bench. McCarthy and Tugay were replaced before the hour mark by Derbyshire and Roberts as Mark Hughes tried to end Blackburn’s barren spell in front of goal. Apart from the Bolton game (4-1) they have scored just four in six. Stick with Santa though as their next three fixtures (West Ham, Wigan and Reading) offer potential.

Premier League Preview 07/03/08
We are back again for a slightly bizarre weekend of English Premier League football. There are only six games taking place this weekend, but don’t be fooled - if you want your players to score for the midweek games next week, they need to be in your team 15 minutes before Saturday’s first kick off!It is also worth taking note of the FA Cup clash this weekend between Manchester United and Portsmouth. This game will not count towards YTM points, so any players from those teams this weekend will be redundant. Here is the preview:

Arsenal 1 Aston Villa 1
Diaby came in for the Gunners with Walcott partnering Adebayor in attack. Bendtner came on to equalise and could well have earnt a start against Wigan next weekend. Arsenal haven’t fired since the FA Cup embarrassment at Old Trafford and will be hoping the return of Rosicky and Van Persie can spark them in to life.
