Premier League Predictions - 29/30 December

After a stunning week of Christmas Premier League action, that saw 58 goals hit the back of the net what can we expect this weekend? Here is my best guess:

Birmingham v Fulham

Two teams heading in opposite directions. Expect a Birmingham win with Roy Hodgson’s Fulham heading towards the Championship.

Score: 2-0
YTM Player to Watch: M Forssell (12 points in last two games)

Chelsea v Newcastle

With Chelsea missing their big guns and Newcastle desperate for a result I see this one being a cagey affair.

Score: 1-0
YTM Player to Watch: Sheva!

Everton v Arsenal

Everton are in great form and can hold the Gunners at Goodison.

Score: 1-1
YTM Player to Watch: T Cahill (awesome since his return from injury)

Portsmouth v Middlesbrough

Pompey bounced back well from their thrashing at Anfield and can go one better against a poor ‘Boro.

Score: 3-1
YTM Player to Watch: N Krancjar

Sunderland v Bolton

I expect that Roy Keane will get a reaction from his players after the drubbing they got from Utd.

Score: 2-1
YTM Player to Watch: K Jones (not scored in 8 so he’s due)

Tottenham v Reading

Spurs are looking much better and Reading struggle away from home.

Score: 2-0
YTM Player to watch: D Berbatov

West Ham v Man Utd

With no major injuries and no one heading to Ghana Utd look clear favourites for the title.

Score: 1-3
YTM Player to Watch: C Tevez (fresh after being rested and desperate to perform on his return to Upton Park)

Wigan v Aston Villa

Steve Bruce has made Wigan difficult to beat but Villa will be buoyant after their epic game at Stamford Bridge.

Score: 1-2
YTM Player to Watch: G Barry (the penalty king)

Derby v Blackburn

Tell me i’m mad but I fancy an improving Derby to snatch a point against a stuttering Blackburn.

Score: 1-1
YTM Player to Watch: K Miller

Man City v Liverpool

Citeh’s home record to finally go. It has to at some point.

Score: 0-1
YTM Player to Watch: Steven Gerrard (there is no stopping him)

Enjoy the weekend. Let’s hope there are as many goals as last weekend.

Cheers,
Tom
