Premier League Transfer News 8th Jan - Derby
The main movers and shakers so far in the transfer window have been Derby County. All of their new players will be added in the coming weeks, and the YTM blog will be the first to know about it. For now though, lets have a look at the done deals and prospectives at Pride Park:

Danny Mills - from Man City on loan
Mills is a fighter in the very sense of the word, and he would be a good man to have in a relegation dogfight. He looks like a pitbul, and if he keeps his temper, could be a useful addittion to the Derby cause.

Laurent Robert - free transfer from Levante
Robert came to Newcastle for £10.5m a few years ago. At 32 he may have lost his pace, but Paul Jewell will be looking to get his creative juices flowing so that he can get lots of Key Contributions for…
Emmanuel Villa - £2m from UAG Tecos (Mexico)
Villa will be the man Jewell looks to to score the goals to keep them up. A tall order for the Argentine, but he seems confident, and the manager thinks he has a bargain. No doubt Villa will be a bargain price, but will he deliver?

Robbie Savage - Fee agreed with Blackburn
Blackburn agreed a fee with Derby today for Robbie Savage. Savage is the player you love to hate, but if he was in your team, you would think he was a hero! The question is, will he go play for Derby, a team with only a slight chance of survival? Other clubs may come knocking…
Derby are also said to be interested in Hossam Ghaly, the Spurs outcast. That would bring Derby’s total so far to 5. I said to my YTM colleagues that Derby would need to buy an entire new teams to survive, and it looks like Mr Jewell agrees!
Cheers

I’m sure the Spuds will sign an average English player just so they can have a dig at Arsenal.
Did you know that Roy Keane was the 8th biggest spender in Europe pre season?

Spurs seem to be looking to offload a couple of Englishmen at the mo in Defoe and Robbo… Perhaps a change in the wind of Ramos’ sails?
The fact that Keane spent £9m on an average keeper makes me a little less surprised at this fact, but it does show him up as a manager in a way… Please don’t hurt me Roy!
