New Premier League players added During the Transfer Window!
The January transfer window has, so far, been very interesting, with a lot of Football Manager gems being unearthed by Premier League managers… I guess now is the time when we see if that game is as realistic as we all believe!
The most notable inclusion are as follows:
Branislav Ivanovic - Code 364 - Defender - Chelsea - £4m
Ivanovic is Vidic’s partner in the Serbian national team’s defence, and has a bag full of potential. Carvalho and Alex seem to have formed a good partnership, but Ivanovic should get games, as he can play anywhere across the back four.
Emanuel Villa - Code 908 - Striker - Derby - £2.5m
Villa arrives from Mexican outfit Tecos for a fee of £2 million. Can he be the man that helps Derby escape the drop? I severely doubt it, but he could score a few goals, and we all need a bargain striker sometimes!
Manuel Fernandes - Code 670 - Midfielder - Everton - £4m
Fernandes has had stints with Everton and Pompey in the past, but then moved to Valencia in the summer for £17 million (?!?!). Managerial changes at the Mestalla meant that he was surplus, and he has moved on loan to the Toffees once again, with a view to a permanent move. If he is worth anything like the £17m Valencia paid, he could be a bargain at £4m!
Nery Castillo - Code 909 - Striker - Man City - £4.5m
Castillo is a colourful character, who fell out with the bosses at Shakhtar after taking a penalty kick which he shouldn’t have… and missing. Unfortunately he has not has the chance to upset Sven yet as he has broken his shoulder. When he gets back, however, he could be the striker that the Citizens desire.
Rade Prica - Code 913 - Striker - Sunderland - £2.5m
Prica is a Champ Manager legend! I never thought I would see him in the Premier League however! Rade scored on his debut last night at the S.O.L. and had another harshly ruled out. Could be a great partner for fellow bargain-boy Kenwyne Jones.
Eddie Johnson - Code 911 - Striker - Fulham - £2.5m
EJ Becomes the fifth US player to sign-up for Fulham. This striker has bags of pace as well as physical presence… two things that the Cottagers have been lacking so far this season. If he gets off on the right foot, my prediction is that he could single-handedly save Fulham from the drop. There, I said it.
Mauro Zarate - Code 910 - Striker - Birmingham City - £2m
Zarate could be a bargain buy at just £2m in You The Manager. He is a young striker with lots of potential. I fear that Birmingham may not possess the players that can work with Zarate to get the best out of him. I have been proved wrong before though…
Take a look through the player list and see if you can find any more new bargains that we have ludicrously under-valued! Then get them in your teams for teh February Manager of the Month prize - £10,000 to the best team in February!
