Luka Modric

Right let’s get one thing straight… Luka Modric has one of the stupidest goal celebrations in football. However only time well tell if Robbie Keane brings back his rolly polly once Modric starts scoring. 

For a breakdown of the player. I can’t say that I’ve seen to much of him but at a reported £16 million, Modric better be using his celebration early in his Spurs career. As it stands only a rejected work permit can stop Modric playing for Spurs and this I believe will not be a problem. 

Now 29 goals in 98 games for Dinamo Zagreb is not the greatest return for an attacking midfielder. I’m sure Spurs would want more bang for their buck from Modric. I have attached a video of some of Modric’s goals, Modric uses both feet (which is always good) but not his head. However he is only 5 ft 8, which means he’s not going to be great in the air. 

I’ve been thinking where Modric will fit into the Spurs team. You’d have to image that he will play on the left of midfield as Spurs stick to a 4-4-2 formation. Will Modric be able to get into games from this position? I believe his worth as a fantasy player really comes down to that point. Aaron Lennon has trouble getting into games unless the central players feed him the ball. Some of this is because most players look for Berbatov early in there build up play. With Berbatov looking like he could be off, will Modric fill that playmaking void? 

Finally the only thing I’d like to add about Modric is that most players who sign from abroad and have never played in the Premier League need around 6 months to get used to the League and the speed of our game. This to me says that Modric should be used as a transferred in player not from the start. However what do I know, I finished about 70,000, poor, very poor.
