New Players added to Fantasy Football player list…
The following are the most recent batch of players added to You The Manager 08-09. Have a read through and let us know if you think any of them will perform this coming season…
143 - Jan Lastuvka - GK - West Ham - £1m
Lastuvka has signed for the Hammers on a year-long loan from Shakhtar Donetsk. He had a loan spell with Fulham in 2006/07, and will be a back-up for Rob Green.
144 - Brad Guzan - GK - Aston Villa - £1.5m
Guzan signed for the Villains from Chivas, and is a 23-year old American stopper, who will look to challenge Brad Friedel for the #1 shirt.
145 - Cesar Sanchez - GK - Tottenham Hotspur - £1.5m
Signed by Juande Ramos as a back-up for new ‘keeper Heurelho Gomes. Very dependable deputy.
333 - Nicky Shorey - DEF - Aston Villa - £3m
Shorey has returned to the Premier League, and he will slot straight into left-back due to Bouma’s injury. Could be a YTM bargain.
334 - Danny Shittu - DEF - Bolton Wanderers - £2m
Bolton’s defence is solid, but whether Shittu will improve an already solid defence remains to be seen. If he steps up, he could be a handy cheap transfer…
507 - Gareth Barry - MID - Aston Villa - £6m
Barry has not moved to Liverpool YET, so we have thrown him into the player list as a Villain (in more ways than one??). Barry scores goals, sets up his team-mates and is a natural leader. £6m well spent methinks…
638 - Carlos Villanueva - MID - Blackburn - £2.5m
22-year old attacking midfielder who has played 12 times for the Chilean national side. An unknown quantity in fantasy football.
639 - Riga Mustapha - MID - Bolton Wanderers - £2m
During his time in Spain, Mustapha, a attacking midfielder/winger, developed the name, ” The Bullet ” due to his electric pace… Could be a decent signing, due to Bolton’s relatively easy start to the season.

Just a quick query - nothing serious as yet.
When is NICKY SHOREY going to get his two points credited after being subbed before Stoke scored their winning goals on Sat.
Also, when do the Man of Match awards appear, and are they the same as SKY (Sporting Life)?? — They were available this morning!!! Oh, yes, I wonder if last years winner has changed his name to Sandor. Style looks familiar. Here’s to an interesting football season now that the Olympics are out of the way. Good luck to all YTM teams.

Apologies for the Shorey error.
This has now been recitified, and I promise it won’t happen again!
Man of teh Match awards are the same as given in ‘Mania’, which is the football pullout in the Mirror every Monday.
I can assure you that Sandor is not Zoran in disguise… I have had conversations with both of them, and one is very Croatian, and the other very Bulgarian!
