Ricardo Carvalho

Chelsea FC has today confirmed that Ricardo Carvalho’s knee injury will keep him on the treatment table for three to four weeks. This will not only be a bitter blow for Chelsea boss ‘Big’ Phil Scolari but also for you the YTM managers.

With over seven thousand of you picking Carvalho in your team he is a poplar choice at the back. So the question is do you use a transfer to remove him or keep the faith?

If you remove him now that will cost you a transfer but if you want him back that will be a second. Do you have transfers to waste? If you leave him in and he has a set back he could be out for longer than just four weeks.

How long does an injury have to be for you to remove a top player? 3 months I think is a yes, but just one month I’m not so sure. Don’t forget the international break at the start of October which means Carvalho could only misses one game at the start of October. He could still help you win our monthly prize.

The story on page 56 of the Daily Mirror today shows that Chelsea are not as strong when Ricky is not in the team. Last season they lost three games when Carvalho was unavailable and were undefeated when he played. That does speak volumes about Carvalho’s influence on this Chelsea team.

As always the choice is yours. But let me know what you’re going to do? I’m interested.
