Fantasy Football Bargain Players
One of the most important factors in Fantasy Football success are the potential bargain players, and whether you spot the right time to snap them up into your eleven.
In a bid to help all you Fantasy Football managers out there, I have compiled the top 10 ‘Value For Money’ players in You The Manager, rated by dividing their total points by their value in the game.
Have a look at the list, and decide whether you think any of these diamonds in the rough could make a difference in your team…
781 - Amr Zaki - Wigan Athletic - Striker - £3.0m - 53pts - 17.7pts per £million
Zaki has been the surprise package of the season so far, and Wigan look like being a safe mid-table team. Thousands of you have transferred Zaki into your teams, so the secret is well and truly out!
249 - Michael Turner - Hull City - Defender - £1.0m - 17pts - 17.0pts per £million
Valued at only £1m, Turner is an ever-present in Hull’s back line, and his impressive displays so far this term have received a few Man of the Match awards.
618 - Matthew Etherington - West Ham United - Midfielder - £2.0m - 30pts - 15.0pts per £million
Etherington was not expected to be first-choice, but has risen to the challenge of impressing his new boss, and should start many more games this season.
322 - Titus Bramble - Wigan Athletic - Defender - £2.0m - 28pts - 14.0pts per £million
Far-too-often discarded as a liability, Bramble is the heart of a solid Wigan back four. The Latics fans absolutely love him!
506 - Denilson - Arsenal - Midfielder - £2.5m - 34pts - 13.6pts per £million
Denilson was not expected to be a regular starter for the Gunners this season, but Arsene Wenger thought otherwise, and the young Brazilian has blossomed.
323 - Emmerson Boyce - Wigan Athletic - Defender - £2.0m - 23pts - 11.5pts per £million
Another of Bruce’s back four at the JJB. Boyce is a solid right-back, and a bargain at £2m in YTM 08-09.
588 - Liam Lawrence - Stoke City - Midfielder - £2.0m - 23pts - 11.5pts per £million
Stoke City’s sole representative in this list is Liam Lawrence. The winger takes free-kicks and can be relied-upon for many of Stoke’s non-Throw-In goals, if indeed, there are any…
631 - Geovanni - Hull City - Midfielder - £2.5m - 28pts - 11.2pts per £million
The ageing Brazilian has scored a few absolute stunners so far this season. Surely he cannot keep this up at his age? Surely…?
529 - Shaun Wright-Phillips - Manchester City - Midfielder - £3.5m - 39pts - 11.1pts per £million
SWP has a new lease of life since he arrived back at Eastlands from Chelsea. As a bit-part Chelsea boy, £3.5m was a tempting price… As a definite starter for Man City, SWP is a must!
766 - Roman Bednar - West Bromwich Albion - Striker - £2.0m - 22pts - 11.0pts per £million
Bednar is West Brom’s first-choice striker and he also takes their penalties with aplomb. At £2m, he is a useful cheapie if you need to budget to transfer in the heavies…
Well, I hope that little countdown has helped you guys to work out which bargain is going to push your team up the leaderboards!
