Well the transfer window closed on Monday night and all the action happened late on. For the last couple of weeks the battle for the little Brazilian Robinho has been between Chelsea and Real Madrid. First Chelsea we’re selling Robinho shirts (I’m not sure how true that story is) then Real said they wanted to keep the little wizard.

Then on Monday morning Manchester City announced that the Abu Dhabi United Group purchased the club from Thaksin Shinawatra. ADUG had less than 24 hours to try and bring in a big name or two to really show the fans that they mean business. That big name was Robinho.

Peter Crouch has in recent weeks completed his reported £11 Million move, Jermaine Defoe arrived in January 2008, Sol Campbell and David James have been there for a number of seasons. In recent weeks reports have been circulating that Harry is looking to bring in another couple of England’s reserves.

On what was only the second day of the summer transfer window, Manchester City completed the biggest transfer so far, and quite possibly the biggest of the entire transfer window. Only the signings of Kaka or Ronaldinho could possibly match the signing of Jô. The 21 year old Brazilian, full name João Alves de Assis Silva (I don’t think British commentators will even try), signed for an undisclosed fee. What will his YTM price be?
